IN LOVING MEMORY
GERHARD MAURER
ONE OF THE GREATS
Our dear friend Gerhard was an old school gentleman, born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1938. Gerhard was 3 years old when his grandfather sat him behind the steering wheel of a dusty Volvo parked in the garage during the war. This moment marked the beginning of a life-long passion that took him all around the globe.

Gerhard raced with private cars, both Porsche and Ferrari from 1963 onward and befriended the likes of Jacky Ickx, Derek Bell and Niki Lauda. His greatest love were the mountain races in Switzerland where he usually came in 1st place. Attention to details was one of his greatest strengths – Swiss efficiency. He raced and trained on the circuits in Switzerland, Germany Nurburgring and Italy's Fiorano. The pinnacle of Gerhard's racing career was winning the 24 hours of Le Mans 1975 Class GT with his beloved private car, Porche 911 Carrara.
As fate would have it, Antonio met Gerhard and his lovely wife Grace who became clients and good friends. The racing synergy and shared passion was an instant bond between Antonio and Gerhard. Sadly we lost Gerhard in 2022, but his legacy lives on today and his career racing trophies adorn the shelves of Sim Lifestyle's racing sim theater. A true gentleman and a great asset to the racing industry, we honor Gerhard and his legacy.
